• What Difference A Day Makes

onepersonshouldtryHowever, October 26 is Make a Difference Day. Yes, I’m reading that in the newspaper. Not that I need a reminder, because October 26 has been making a difference in my life for a very long time and I hope it works the other way around, me making a difference in the lives of others.

I’m checking out the article and I’m finding out that Hillary Clinton was born on October 26 1947. Interesting. It also says that Keith Urban was born on the same day, different year. Well, regarding Keith, I know he sings and he is married to Nicole Kidman. None of these people have anything to do with the reason October 26 is important to me.

My former spouse was born on October 26. I know, so what? Right? But wait, this is where it gets interesting. Just about the same time we were going through a painful divorce, a little boy was born. Yes, October 26. My first grandchild. After that I could never forget or ignore October 26. I like to think of that coincidence as life wicked sense of humor. Or blessed sense of balance.

One love lost for one love found.

Now I pay more attention to such coincidences and I’m not talking about the fact that I share my birthday with Benito Mussolini, the Italian Dictator also know as Il Duce. No, I’m talking about friends and acquaintances. It seems like some birthdates have more in common with us that other. At least that’s my experience. That brings to mind another October 26 birthday. That of a very good friend I’ve known for many, many years. And he just got married. Congratulations Michael.

mosquitoSo, go out there and make a difference. And then share with us the days that are important to you and your loved ones.
