The plot of A Cat To Die For revolves around a strange coincidence.
Two Calico cats. Males.
For non cat people, a male calico it’s hard to find, so what are the chances of two look alike male calico? Believe it or not, it happens. In real life. And here is proof.
The calico on the cover of the book is a photo we purchased from a professional photographer. This is common practice. It could have ended there, but it didn’t.
A few days ago a friend of mine, June Clark, posted a picture of a calico cat on my Facebook page. With this byline; Maria–I know the cat on your cover! He (or a relative) cozied up to me while I was dining under the stars in Granada, Spain!
I was stunned. The cats look so much alike and to make this even more interesting, in the province of Quebec, Canada, calicos are sometimes called chatte d’Espagne (French for ‘(female) cat of Spain’).
So, you see? I may make up my stories, then again…are you sure????
