Every December starts out the same way—Christmas already? I feel overwhelmed, I panic.
Yesterday more than ever. I had dinner guests due to arrive at 6:30, with everything well planned I felt confident I could even take a short nap before starting some serious cooking. Imagine my panic when, at about 1:30, I received an emergency message for the HOA. A main water pipe broke and water had to be turned off for a few hours. What? You can’t do that. What about my dinner? My first impulse was to get on the phone and—well—scream. That’s why I have a sign over the desk that says WAIT.
After consulting with myself I decide perhaps this would be a good time for a nap. Wise decision. By the time I was up and around, all relaxed and full of energy, the water was back. What can I say? The dinner was a great success. And with 48 hours left, Christmas doesn’t feel so labor intense any more.
So without hesitation I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a successful new year.
Thank you and may you and little No Name also have a wonderful Christmas! Try not to drown in all the rain I’ve been sending home from CA!
Hugs,
Jeannie
Thanks Jeannie, same to you!!!
Thank you Maria. I am glad your dinner came out great. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to your family and friends!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Funny how we initially think that we can control things by throwing a fit. Glad it all worked out for you. Jeanne
So true, but in retrospect it took years for me to learn. Hope you have a great Christmas also.
I’d love to know how you were able to relax your mind so you could nap! I’m glad to hear your dinner went very well.
I learned meditation years ago. It helps. Hugs
